Blast at Texas dairy farm won’t severely impact Jamaica’s milk supply – Fulton
President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, Lenworth Fulton says he does not believe that the recent explosion at a Texas dairy farm in the United States will cause severe implications for Jamaica’s milk supply.
Earlier this week, approximately 18,000 cows were killed in the blast at South Fork Dairy, near the town of Dimmitt. One person was critically wounded.
Authorities believe that machinery in the facility may have ignited methane gas.
Speaking to IRIE FM news, Mr Fulton noted that although Jamaica imports milk by-products, Texas represents only one of several areas from which the products are sourced.
