Big prize monies for sprint hurdles record breakers at 2025 ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls  Athletics  Championships

103,000 dollars will be given to any school whose athlete breaks a record in the sprint hurdles events at   the  ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys  and  Girls  Athletics  Championships, in celebration of the 103rd  Anniversary of Title Sponsosr Grace Kennedy .

The  incentives  were  unveiled  by Grace  Kennedy  CEO  Frank  James  at  the  launch  of  the  2025  staging  of  Champs  on Wednesday evening at Stadium East .

James  also  revealed   that   for  this  year , Grace  sponsorship   of  the  five  days  Mega  event  is  a  staggering  104  million  dollars,  with  an  additional  81  million  dollars  with  the  inputs  from  Grace  foods, Grace Money  Services  and  First  Global  Bank  to  bring  the  total  investment  to  185  million  dollars.

Meanwhile , the  Don  Wheby  Sportsmanship  Award  valued  at  250  thousand  dollars  and  a  new  scholarship from the  Grace  Kennedy  Foundation  valued  at  half  a  million  dollars  were  also  unveiled  by  the  new  CEO.

The  March  25  to  29   staging  of  ‘Champs’  will  see  a  record  118  boys  teams  in  action  along  with  117  girls  teams, with  2500  athletes  participating.

The  honourees  this  year  will  be  former  athletes  Bertland  Cameron  and  Marlene  Lewin-Hawthorne, coach  Neil  Harrison  and  official  Gregory  Hamilton.

A  total  of  86  finals  will  be  contested  to  decide  the  2025  Boys Champions  and  Girls  Champions. 

Kingston  College  and  Edwin  Allen high are the  defending champions on the boys  and  girls  champions  respectively.
