Beryl now a category 4 hurricane; meantime several flights in the region have been disrupted
Hurricane Beryl continues to strengthen and is now a very dangerous category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 215 km per hour.
The MET Service says current forecast models suggest that by late Tuesday to early Wednesday, Jamaica may be impacted by hurricane conditions.
Meantime, tomorrow is expected to see widely scattered showers and thunderstorms across western and north central parishes and hilly areas.
Tuesday should bring partly cloudy and windy conditions across northern parishes.
While Wednesday is expected to bring hurricane conditions, which includes extremely dangerous winds, storm surges, along with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
Fishers on the cays and banks are urged to complete their preparations and be on the alert to evacuate.
The MET Service says Hurricane Beryl is not an immediate threat to Jamaica.
