Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story, journeys to Tribeca Film Festival
Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story, a documentary based on the life of the legendary musician, is set to premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in just another five days in New York.
Written and directed by Alison Duke, the film highlights Sister Nancy’s life on tour, live performances, and personal interviews.
It features Janelle Monáe, DJ Kool Herc, Pete Rock, and other industry players sharing their encounters with the Bam Bam hitmaker and celebrating her influence on music.
Bam Bam, Sister Nancy’s 1982 classic, continues to make waves years after being released. The timeless track has been sampled by various artistes including Kanye West and Jay Z. It has also featured on movie soundtracks such as Hype Williams’ 1998 Belly, Ozark and the Netflix series Maid.
