Reggae Boyz captain and goalkeeper Andre Blake has added another major honour to his illustrious career, after helping Philadelphia Union capture the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) Supporters’ Shield title.
The trophy is awarded to the team with the best record across the league after the regular season, and this year’s triumph further cements Blake’s legacy as one of the most decorated and consistent goalkeepers in MLS history.
Despite not boasting the star power or payroll of big-spending rivals—most notably Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami—Philadelphia, anchored by their longest-serving player, produced a season of grit and defensive brilliance to outpace the rest of the league, finishing with a competition-best 66 points.
Blake delivered another commanding performance in the decisive match, keeping his third consecutive clean sheet in a 1-0 win over New York City FC on Saturday to seal the title for Philadelphia. His leadership and shot-stopping prowess were central to the club’s success, continuing a trend that has defined his time with the team.
This latest triumph marks Blake’s second Supporters’ Shield, following the Union’s first in 2020, and adds to a growing list of personal accolades. Earlier this year, he also collected MLS Save of the Month honours for April.
The Jamaican international is now set to rejoin the Reggae Boyz for their upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, after missing the previous international window due to injury.
