While Jamaican teams may not be represented on the pitch in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals, there will certainly be a strong Jamaican presence on the field — in the form of match officials. Four Jamaican referees have been enlisted to officiate in the first legs of two of the four quarterfinal match-ups to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Among them is Assistant Referee Stephanie Dale Yee Sing, who will be on duty in Tuesday’s clash between Reigning MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy and Liga MX side Tigres UANL at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The second leg is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, at Estadio Universitario in Monterey, Mexico.
Joining Yee Sing in officiating duties is Daneon Parchment, who will serve as one of the Video Assistant Referees (VAR) for this match. Parchment will also be involved in VAR duties for Wednesday’s first-leg encounter between Los Angeles FC (LAFC) and Inter Miami at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
In addition to Parchment’s role as a VAR official, the upcoming LAFC vs. Inter Miami game will see Oshane Nation taking on the role of Referee, while Ojay Duhaney will be one of two Assistant Referees for the match.
Inter Miami are making a second appearance in the quarterfinals stage after winning 4-nil on aggregate against 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup winners Cavalier FC in the Round of 16. LAFC meanwhile are featuring in the quarterfinals of the competition for a third time, notably having advanced to semifinals in both previous appearances. The California side reached the quarterfinals after defeating fellow MLS side Columbus Crew 4-2 on aggregate.
