June 13 deadline set for Fi Wi Short Film Competition submission

The Jamaica Culture Development Commission has extended the submission date for entrants to the Fi Wi Short Film competition.

Extended to June 13, Entrants must submit a one-page treatment for a three to five-minute film from the categories of Animation, Sci-Fi, Documentary, Drama and Comedy.

With this year’s special theme being “Stop: you’re eating too much salt” entrants should select from the five proverbs for their submission.  

The Fi Wi Short Film Competition is free and open to members of the public ages 12 and over. The Short Film Competition is the brainchild of the JCDC’s Drama and Theatre Arts Unit and sees entrants examining one of five selected Jamaican Proverbs and creating a short film based on their interpretation.
