JLP blasts PNP for announcing that it will release a supplemental manifesto

Chairperson of the JLP’s Achievements and Manifesto Committee Kamina Johnson Smith, has blasted the People’s National Party’s (PNP) for announcing that it will release a supplemental manifesto, describing it as a “slapdash approach to policy-making.”

The PNP released its official manifesto, titled “Mission Jamaica Love: A People’s Pledge to Country,” on August 12 in New Kingston and stated that it plans to roll out an expanded version.

According to the PNP certain elements were intentionally withheld from the initial document to prevent the JLP from copying its ideas.

Responding to questions about the matter, at a JLP press conference yesterday Mrs. Johnson Smith dismissed that rationale and said the decision to produce a supplemental document, amounts to a barefaced admission that the PNP’s original manifesto was a failure.
