Ground was officially broken yesterday for the rehabilitation of the Runaway Bay to Brown’s Town Main Road in St. Ann.
The groundbreaking comes almost three years after Minister with responsibility for Works, Everald Warmington announced that over $200 million would be allocated to fix the roadway.
The minister toured several roadways in the parish, alongside Member of Parliament for St. Ann North Western, Krystal Lee, in July 2021.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for the rehabilitation of the roadway, Ms. Lee said it is the first time in over 30 years that the road will be fully repaired.
She noted that the Summer Hill Community in Browns town is among several that will also see road repairs in short order.
Meanwhile, the works minister said the rehabilitation project displays the government’s commitment to sustainable development.
