Track and field’s local governing body……the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (the JAAA), in a release earlier today said it is aware of the alleged Anti- Doping rule violation involving Olympic and World championships finalist Christopher Taylor. 

The release added that Taylor has legal representation and is going through the process, adding they are unable to comment further at this time and eagerly await the outcome.

Meanwhile, the Jamaica Anti-doping Commission (JADCO) says it is aware of the charge that has been brought against Taylor by the Athletics Integrity unit (the A.I.U) for violating (WADA)  anti-doping code article 2.3…….which states evading, refusing or failing to submit to sample collection after notification as authorized in applicable Anti-Doping rules.

Taylor, who’s been among the top 8 in the world over the last two years has been absent from competition thus far in 2023.

If found guilty the former Calabar standout could miss the upcoming World Athletics Championship in Budapest from August 19 to 27……as sanctions for first time offenders can result in a potential period of ineligibility of up to two years.
