Former world 100 meter record holder Asafa Powell will be a specially invited guest at the upcoming united nations organized event dubbed making a difference beyond the game.
The event, which showcases the positive role of sport and physical activity in the lives of individuals and communities across the globe, takes place tomorrow and is part of the international day of sport for development and peace celebrations.
It will be held at the Turkish House on First Avenue in New York and will feature a panel discussion, presentations by a myriad of experts and athletes.
As well as Powell, other specially invited guests include Her Excellency . Fanday Turay…..ambassador and permanent representative of the republic of sierra Leona to the united nations and NBA hall of famer Earl “the pearl ” Monroe who was a part of 1973 new York Knicks title winning team.
The event will also be emceed by Gordon Tapper, president of the united african congress.
