Record breaking reggae girls striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw will miss the rest of the Women’s Super League season in England.
Manchester City has confirmed that the leading scorer in the league suffered a foot injury last Sunday after scoring twice to lead them to a 5-0 blanking of West Ham United.
Shaw in that game became the only player in the league’s history to have a goal contribution in 10 consecutive matches.
City confirmed today that the 27-year-old had undergone scans during the week and will be absent for the final three matches of City’s WSL title run-in.
“The forward will now begin her rehabilitation at the City Football Academy under the care of the club’s medical team,” a club statement read.
The reigning Concacaf Women’s Player of The Year, is the leading scorer in WSL with 21 goals in 18 appearances.
