Manchester  City  has  confirmed  that  the  leading  scorer  in  the  league suffered a foot injury  last  Sunday after scoring twice to lead them to a 5-0 blanking of West Ham United.

Shaw in  that  game  became  the only player in the league’s history to have a goal contribution in 10 consecutive matches.

City confirmed today that the 27-year-old had undergone scans during the week and will be absent for the final three matches of City’s WSL title run-in.

“The forward will now begin her rehabilitation at the City Football Academy under the care of the club’s medical team,” a club statement read.
