Scores of commuters, including school children were stranded this morning, after taxi operators withdrew their services, and blocked the Mile Gully main road, in Manchester.

The operators are reportedly frustrated, due to the deplorable condition of the main road.

Principal of Mile Gully High, Christopher Tyme, said the majority of his students were unable to travel to the institution due to the roadblock.

He noted that half of the school’s teachers also did not make it to school.

He said parents have been notified to pick up their children where possible.
