President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, Egeton Newman is stressing the urgent need for islandwide town hall meetings, hosted by the Island Traffic Authority (ITA).

Mr. Newman made the plea to ITA Executive Director, Colonel Daniel Pryce, as he reiterated the call for a public education campaign to inform motorists of the road code.

He also noted that while the authorities seek to enforce the road code, they should also seek to educate motorists.

In response, Mr. Pryce said increased public education is being contemplated by the Authority.

He said while the ITA has been going into schools and communities, this is not enough.
