President of the People’s National Party Women’s Movement, Patricia Duncan Sutherland, says the recent attack on a female nurse during a road rage incident last Tuesday represents the continuation of an epidemic.

Mrs. Duncan Sutherland joined Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton, scores of nurses and several members of the public at the University Hospital of the West Indies this morning to register the nation’s discontent with violence against women and girls.

The past few weeks have been marred by news of such incidents, which have resulted in national outrage.

Mrs. Duncan Sutherland said these acts cannot continue.
