At least 6 people were killed in separate road crashes at the weekend.

2 deaths occurred in St. Elizabeth, 2 in Westmoreland, 1 in St. Catherine and 1 in St. Ann.

Police have identified 5 of the deceased.

They are Amar Henry, 17-year-old Jakwon Malcolm of Farm District, Whitehouse, Westmoreland, 30-year-old Omar Spence, a construction worker of Coley Mountain District, Manchester, 32-year-old Nigel Kirlew, a farmer of Moreland Hill District in Little London, Westmoreland and 19-year-old Kassim Peart of Old Buckfield, Ocho Rios, St. Ann.

Henry was killed in the latest crash along Thornton main road in St. Elizabeth this morning.

Reports indicated that at about 3:00 A.M., Henry was riding his motorcycle along the roadway when he lost control of the bike which collided with a wall.

Hours earlier, an unidentified man was killed in a crash in St. Catherine.

Police said he was driving a Honda Stream motorcar along Old Harbour Road at about 12:15 AM, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

On Sunday, Spence died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash along the Lacovia main road in St. Elizabeth.

The incident reportedly occurred at 9:20 P.M.

Police said Spence was riding his motorcycle along the roadway when he collided with a Toyota Corolla motor car.

Spence was reportedly thrown from the motorcycle and sustained multiple head injuries.

In neighbouring Westmoreland, Jakwon was killed in a crash, along Farm main road.

Reports are that at about 12:10 PM the teen was riding a motorcycle along the road, when it collided with a motor car.

He sustained injuries and died at hospital.

And, Kirlew was also killed in a motorcycle crash in Westmoreland on Sunday.

Reports are that at around 2:30 A.M., he was riding towards Sheffield District when the motorcycle developed mechanical problems.

The rear tyre reportedly exploded, causing Kirlew and his pillion passenger to be thrown from the bike.

The police were alerted, and both men were taken to the hospital, where Kirlew later succumbed
to his injuries.

The other man remains hospitalised in serious but stable condition.

Over in St. Ann, Peart died, following a crash along the AGR Byfield main road, on Saturday.

Police said at about 4:15 PM, Peart was driving a Toyota Crown motor car along the roadway with a passenger aboard, when he lost control of the vehicle which collided with a railing.

Both occupants were taken to hospital, where Peart was pronounced dead.

The passenger was admitted in serious condition.

All incidents are being investigated.
