Area 5 Police concerned over reports that gunmen in Commodore mass shooting were dressed in clothing resembling police attire
The Area 5 Police have expressed concern over reports that the perpetrators involved in last evening’s mass shooting in Commodore, Linstead, St. Catherine were dressed in clothing resembling police attire.
Nine people were shot, five fatally during the attack at about 8:50 P.M.
Head of Area Five Assistant Commissioner of Police, Christopher Phillips said the victims were approached by armed men, who opened gunfire at them.
In the meantime, the Area 5 Police suspect that the shooting is linked to gang conflict.
ACP Phillips said the police have mobilised its resources including senior investigators, to help ensure safety and resolve the case.
He said members of the security forces are no strangers to those who lived in the affected household.
