Area 5 commander lauds St. Catherine South police division for recording its lowest murders in more than 20 years
Head of the Area 5 police, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Christopher Phillips has lauded the St. Catherine South police for a reduction in murders last year.
Statistics from the Constabulary showed that some 83 murders were committed last year, in comparison to 102 in 2023.
ACP Phillips noted that this is the lowest number of homicides recorded in the division, since 2002.
He said similar declines were also seen in the St. Thomas and St. Catherine North police divisions.
He assured citizens that work will continue to rid Area 5 of criminals.
