Approximately 100 people still in shelters a week after the passage of Hurricane Beryl
A week after the passage of Hurricane Beryl, some 10 shelters with approximately 100 people are still in operation.
This is down from close to a thousand occupants in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane last Wednesday.
Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie says the hurricane shelters will not be deactivated until the occupants have alternative places to go.
He was speaking at a post Cabinet press briefing this morning.
