Anthony Edwards fined by the NBA for using profane language during TV interview

Two-time All Star Anthony Edwards has been handed a $100,000 fine by the NBA for using profanity during a live television interview, with the league increasing the amount after penalizing the Minnesota Timberwolves guard for the third time in three weeks.

The penalty was for comments made by Edwards after Minnesota rallied for a 113-112 victory on the road over the Houston Rockets on December 27 at Toyota Center.

The NBA, which made the announcement through Joe Dumars its Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations, said that it was taking into account “Edwards’ history of using profane language during media interviews.”

Edwards was fined $75,000 on Monday for public criticism of the officiating and using profanity after getting docked $25,000 for his comments in a December 6 win against the Golden State Warriors.

He was also fined $35,000 on November 17 for making an obscene gesture on the court.
