Andre Blake is now a Naturalized US Citizen
Reggae Boys captain is now a naturalized U.S. citizen.
The three-time MLS goalkeeper of the year Blake, passed his naturalization exam earlier this month and was sworn in on Monday. He is now a dual citizen of the us and Jamaica, along with his wife and two children.
Blake is the longest-tenured player, with 231 combined MLS regular season and Audi MLS Cup Playoffs appearances since being drafted from the university of Connecticut in 2014.
The Philadelphia Union goalkeeper made history last year when he became the first player in MLS history to win MLS goalkeeper of the year three times.
Blake who guided to the reggae boys to the 2015 Concacaf Gold Cup final, the first time that a Caribbean nation had ever reached a gold cup final and four years later in 2019 was at the helm when Jamaica notched another achievement by becoming the first Caribbean side to reach the semifinal stage in three consecutive gold cups.
Blake has 68 caps for Jamaica.
