“An unimaginable tragedy” Loved ones shocked by killing of teen at Palm Grove Court; call for killer to be brought to justice
“An unimaginable tragedy”.
That’s how many persons have described the death of 14-year-old Price Johnson.
The teen was sexually assaulted and beaten by a man at her home at the Palm Grove Court Housing Scheme in St. Andrew yesterday.
Price died at hospital.
Her attacker remains at large.
Member of Parliament (MP) for St. Andrew South Western, Dr. Angela Brown Burke who visited the family last evening noted that Price’s loved ones and neighbours are shocked and outraged by the incident.
Dr. Brown Burke is calling on the police to move with alacrity in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
She also noted that the incident has highlighted the need for communities to be part of the mechanism that protects people, especially children.
The MP added that the Government has a critical role to play in protecting the vulnerable.
Meanwhile, Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison told IRIE FM News that she is concerned that the lives of the nation’s children are being taken under exceptional occurrences.
Mrs. Gordon Harrison said her prayers are with Price’s relatives and the Haile Selassie High School community.
