The Electoral Office has indicated that the current voters list is up to date, and that the removal of names is a continuous process.

This in response to alleged comments made by former Director of Elections Orrette Fisher that the reported voter turn out for Wednesday’s general election may not be a true representation, due to an over inflated voters list.

The Electoral Office had said there was an overall preliminary voter turn out of approximately 39.5 percent.

The current Director, Glasspole Brown said the EOJ regularly clears the list of name of electors who have died, based on data from the Registrar Generals Department.

Brown added that for persons who have migrated, removal of their names from the list is a bit more complex, as this requires formal notification.
