American Airlines increases flights between Miami and Ian Fleming Airport
United States based air carrier, American Airlines, will be increasing the number of flights it offers between Miami and the Ian Fleming Airport in St. Mary.
The company will be moving from two flights per week to one flight daily between the destinations.
Senior Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright, says the move indicates the strength of Jamaica as a destination and the continued success of tourism despite the odds.
He said the increased flights between St. Mary and Miami will help to drive economic growth on the north coast, especially in the winter season.
American Airlines’ twice weekly service between Miami and Ian Fleming started in February.
The airline currently operates over 100 flights per week between several US cities and Jamaica’s three international airports.
