Gone but not forgotten, late Reggae veteran Alton Ellis’ 1969 song ‘Pearls’ was featured on the soundtrack of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, an American spy comedy television series.

Regarded as one of the innovators of Rocksteady, Ellis’ Pearls which was released 55 years ago for the album ‘The Best of Alton Ellis’ in the 60s, added flavour to the series soundtrack during episode two of season one.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the series created by Francesca Sloane and Donald Glover, based on the 2005 film, premiered on February 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
