The Principal of the Alphansus Davis High School in Spalding, Clarendon says the institution will be providing counselling to the family and schoolmates of a student who drowned in Manchester yesterday.

17-year-old Nathaniel Thompson reportedly drowned at Alligator Pond at about 10:30 AM, after he went swimming with relatives and got into difficulty.

Speaking with IRIE FM news, Alphansus Davis’ principal, George Henry expressed sadness at the student’s death.

He said while he did not know the student personally, the incident is tragic.

Mr. Henry noted that prior to the holiday period, he warned students to use their time wisely.

Mr. Henry added that the school will be providing counselling for the family of the deceased
