Alleged St James based robbery syndicate leader remanded until next month
A St. James woman alleged to be the leader of a robbery syndicate is to return to court next month after being remanded earlier this week.
She is 33-year-old Samarah Forrester, otherwise called ‘Toots,’ a fish vendor of Railway Lane, Montego Bay.
Forrester is charged with unauthorized possession of ammunition and dealing in prohibited weapon.
She appeared before the western regional gun court on Monday, October 13.
Forrester is expected to reappear in court on November 13.
Head of the St. James police division Senior Superintendent Eron Samuels said investigators are continuing their probe into the activities of the syndicate.
Meantime, 5 men who were arrested alongside Forrester, are to face the western regional gun court next Tuesday, October 21.
The men are charged with robbery with aggravation and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
All 6 were apprehended during an intelligence led operation along Dome Lane on October 5.
Forrester’s vehicle was stopped and searched, resulting in the discovery of 25 rounds of ammunition, as well as a large quantity of Jamaican and USA bank notes.
