The management team of Dancehall star Aidonia has issued a statement following a police search at his St. Andrew North home this morning.

In a press release, the artiste’s brother and manager, Lav Lawrence, clarified that nothing illegal was found during the operation.

“No one was arrested, nothing illegal was found. One family member was taken by the police to the station to check if there were any infractions against him, that’s it,” he explained.

Lawrence described the raid as shocking and damaging to Aidonia’s reputation.

“I am very surprised by this operation because Aidonia is an upstanding family man and beloved member of his community. To see this unfold is embarrassing and taints the artiste’s image. Aidonia’s sole focus is his family and career,” he said.

According to police reports, the raid formed part of a wider operation across the division targeting individuals suspected of criminal activity and illegal firearms. While no illegal items were found at Aidonia’s residence, two individuals present were taken into custody for questioning.

Despite the disruption, Aidonia continues to focus on his career. He is actively promoting his latest single Pit-A-Pat, produced by Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor.

The track is also generating discussion after Roman Catholic priest Father Ho Lung criticized a lyric that references his name. In the song, Aidonia deejays about “round one” before delivering the punchline, “She seh fada how long.”

The lyric has divided social media, with some amused by the priest’s reaction while others point out that Aidonia has long been known for provocative wordplay.
