The Ministry of Agriculture will be undertaking activities to boost agricultural productivity in St. Mary, including improving irrigation and access to land.

Portfolio Minister Floyd Green said ongoing changes in weather patterns have made it increasingly difficult for farmers who rely heavily on rainwater.

This, he explained, underscores the need for more irrigation solutions.

Mr. Green also noted that several areas with unused land in the parish have been identified as suitable for crop production.

He was speaking in St. Mary on Wednesday.
