Agriculture Minister, Floyd Green, is assuring that the necessary measures are being implemented to reduce the country’s import bill.
He notes the importance of Jamaica being able to feed itself and that the nation is making good strides to achieve this.
Mr. Green points to improvements in the country’s onion production – a 780 per cent increase over the last four years.
He pledged that more improvements in onion production and other food sources will come soon.
Minister Green was speaking at the Montpellier Agriculture Show in St. James on Easter Monday.
