Rising production numbers, increased direct and broad-based support and measures to recoup losses incurred in 2024 are some of the New Year resolutions made to the nation’s farmers and fishers.

Speaking with IRIE FM News, Agriculture Minister Floyd Green gave the assurances as he encourages people in the sector to keep faith, despite a tumultuous year.

Though he understands that farmers and fisherfolk are resilient people, Mr. Green says he will be liaising with the Prime Minister and the Finance Ministry to establish a more comprehensive support framework.

He notes that farmers will be provided with the training and technology necessary to deal with climate change and related crises.
