Agriculture Minister assures facilities of Agricultural Marketing Corporation will continue to serve sector
Agriculture Minister, Floyd Green has sought to assure that the facilities of the Agricultural Marketing Corporation (AMC) will continue to serve the sector.
His assurance follows concern by the Opposition that the Government had plans to divest the AMC.
It was developed to be a hub for agricultural-related activities, including packaging of fresh produce and value-added products for export, warehouse storage, cold storage and support offices.
Responding to queries during a Post-Cabinet press briefing on Wednesday, Mr. Green dismissed the divestment claims and called for people to refrain from politicising agriculture.
He emphasized that any plan executed at the AMC will ensure that the facility is fulfilling its purpose in the agriculture sector.
