Agriculture, Fisheries Ministry crafting disaster recovery plan for sector as Hurricane Melissa continues to pose a threat to Jamaica
The Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry has begun crafting a disaster recovery plan for the sector, as Hurricane Melissa continues to pose a threat to Jamaica.
Portfolio Minister Floyd Green noted that with heavy rains, flash floods and landslides projected to impact the island, farmers will undoubtedly be at a disadvantage.
He said the Ministry has forward-procured vegetable seeds to offer farmers after the system has passed.
Mr. Green has also sought to assure farmers that the Ministry will provide the necessary support for them to rebound.
