Additional police resources to be deployed to Manchester following shooting which left 2 people dead and 5 wounded
Business was slower than usual for vendors who ply their wares at the Mandeville market in Manchester, today.
This follows Friday’s shooting at the market which left two people dead, and five others wounded.
The deceased have been identified as Nathaniel Bradford, otherwise called ‘Andre’ and 30-year-old practical nurse Melissa Merchant.
Members of the security forces toured the market this morning, alongside Member of Parliament for Manchester Central, Rhoda Moy Crawford.
Speaking in an interview with IRIE FM News, Ms. Crawford noted that the vendors welcomed the presence of the lawmen as the incident has left persons fearful.
She said she spoke with the Minister of National Security, and he has pledged more resources for the parish.
Ms. Crawford assured residents that the market is safe for them to visit to carry out their business.
