Ackeem Blake given a Wild Card entry to next month’s World Indoor Championships in Poland

Former World Athletics Indoor Championships Men’s 60metres bronze medallist Ackeem Blake has been given a Wild Card entry to next month’s World Indoor Championships in Poland.

Blake, who won the event at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on January 24 and the Millrose Games in New York on February 1, topped the points table with 20 points.

For  Jamaica  this  will  mean  being  able  to  have   three  entries  in  the  men’s  60  metres  event  in Poland. 

In the meantime, Blake  is  among  eleven athletes  to  secure  wild card places for the World Indoor Championships,  as winners of the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Tour following the final gold level meeting of the series in Toruń on Sunday. 

In the meantime the Olympic Silver medalist Kishane Thompson – who booked his ticket by achieving the entry standards, is among the other Jamaican male sprinters who have qualified so far. 

the world championship 200 meters bronze medalist Bryan Levell and Odaine Mcpherson are also among the other Jamaican qualifiers.  

Meanwhile, among the Jamaican qualifiers are world indoor finalist jordan scott in the men’s triple jump,  and the sensational Navasky Anderson, who broke the Jamaican National Indoor record in the men’s 800 metres, and finished 16th in his event after competing in two events in Europe last week.

Two-time world champion in the 100m hurdles, Danielle Williams,  in the women’s 60m hurdles, and Lamara Distin  in the high jump are among the Jamaican women who have qualified thus far.

The 2026 World Athletics Indoor championships are scheduled for March 20 – 22, 2026, in Toruń, Poland. 

Meanwhile,  qualification performances must be achieved between November 1, 2025, and March 8, 2026
