Reports have emerged that a group of Haitians arrived by boat at Kensington in Portland, this morning.

The Haitians who travelled in a small boat were reportedly spotted by residents. 

The authorities have not yet issued a statement on the development, but it’s understood that they are being assessed and are expected to undergo medical examinations.

Haiti has been facing political instability and civil unrest for several months, prompting many  Haitians to flee their homeland.
