A Calabash to save the world brings Jamaican Science and Culture to life
Ntukuma will be hosting a production titled A Calabash to save the world, during Child Month.
Dubbed a celebration of Jamaican science, culture, and community and running from May 16 to 31 at the Little Theatre, the inter-generational extravaganza promises to be an unforgettable experience.
According to a release from the Ntukuma Jamaica the play takes inspiration from pioneering Jamaican scientists such as Cecily Williams, who made groundbreaking contributions to the field of medicine, and Thomas P. Lecky, a renowned Agricultural Scientist.
It continued by noting that by highlighting their achievements, the production aims to inspire a new generation of Jamaicans to pursue careers in science and technology.
A Calabash to save the world is a vibrant celebration of Jamaican culture, featuring traditional music, games, and storytelling that will transport audiences to the heart of the island. The cast includes Amina Blackwood Meeks and percussionist M’Bala.
