Classes at Bickersteth Primary and Infant School suspended following break-in at the institution last night

Classes at the Bickersteth Primary and Infant School in St. James will be suspended for the rest of the week, following a break-in at the institution last night.
Parents, guardians, students and staff were informed in a notice that school would be closed for the rest of the week.
Chairman of the institution, Renardo Douglas, told IRIE FM News that the principal’s and guidance counselor’s offices were ransacked.
He noted that food items were removed from the tuckshop.
Mr. douglas said about 15 laptops are missing.
The school is appealing to members of the community to assist the authorities with any information that may help in their investigations.
Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon disclosed yesterday that several robberies occurred at schools in Western Jamaica and that the police were working to arrest the burglars and bring the situation under control.
