JTA will resume wage negotiations with Finance Ministry on September 15

The Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) will resume wage negotiations with the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, September 15.
This follows teachers rejection of the Government’s latest wage offer.
The association formally communicated its rejection to the Ministry on August 20.
JTA President La Sonja Harrison is urging teachers to remain resolute in their push for an improved standard of living, despite the lengthy negotiating process.
She says while some of the conversations may be uncomfortable, they are necessary to advance the interests of teachers.
