A call is being made for Education Minister, Dr. Dana Morris Dixon to move with alacrity to approve the appointment of a principal for the St. Mary High School.

Member of Parliament for St. Mary Central Omar Newell who made the appeal said the institution should not enter another academic year without settled leadership.

Mr. Newell wants the minister to approve urgently the recommendation of the Board of Governors for the principal’s appointment.

Mr. Newell, who is also a past student of St. Mary High said the absence of a permanently appointed principal limits the school’s ability to undertake the long-term planning and execution necessary for its continued development.
