Reggae singer Jahdore is celebrating a legal victory after years of fighting to clear his name, following his acquittal in a case dating back to 2019.
The entertainer was accused of assaulting a police officer and tearing his shirt during an incident at a police station. The incident reportedly occurred after Jahdore’s children and their mother were detained following a police visit to his home to investigate allegations that he had failed to ensure his sons attended school.
In a social media post, Jahdore reflected on the lengthy legal battle, describing it as a journey marked by trials, tribulations, perseverance and faith. He said that after years of fighting for justice, all charges against him had been dismissed, and he was found not guilty in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.
The singer also used the post to call for greater accountability, dignity and meaningful change, stressing that no woman should endure abuse, humiliation or disrespect, and no child should be traumatized by injustice.
He added that Jamaica and the wider world deserve accountability and a commitment to meaningful change.
