Sligoville Councillor calls on residents to remain resolute in standing against crime and violence

Councillor for the Sligoville Division in St. Catherine, Dwight Burke, has called on residents to remain resolute in standing against crime and violence.
He was reacting to yesterday’s incident in which two police officers were shot, one of them fatally, by armed men.
The gunmen were shot dead, and a young girl was wounded.
Burke said this act of violence has no place in the community.
He urged residents to support law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to uphold peace and safety.
Burke is urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist the police in their ongoing investigation.
