The Jamaica Labour Party says it has taken note of an announcement by a councillor in Clarendon to switch party affiliation and will be rescinding her membership.
Yesterday at the monthly meeting of the Clarendon Municipal Corporation, JLP Councillor for the May Pen North Division, Tanyalee Williams declared that she would be crossing the floor, to join the People’s National Party.
In a statement last evening, the JLP said the secretariat did not get a formal resignation letter from Williams.
It added that the processes to facilitate her expulsion have been activated.
