Remittances to households have decreased by 3% so far this year with one of the island’s top market researchers expressing concern over the matter.

Executive Chairman of Market Research Services Limited, Don Anderson made the disclosure while speaking yesterday at the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce/GK Capital Business and Consumer Confidence Indices second-quarter briefing.

He shared that 27% of households received support through remittances so far in 2026, down from 30% last year.

He noted that if the downward trend continues, this would not bode well for persons who rely on the funds.
