St. Catherine South East MP Dr. Alfred Dawes vows boycott of Portmore boundary change meetings
Member of Parliament for St. Catherine South East Dr. Alfred Dawes has vowed to not attend any more meetings about the proposed boundary changes for Portmore.
The Electoral Office of Jamaica hosted a meeting yesterday for elected officials and representatives of the three existing constituencies that will be affected by the changes to be made to create the parish of Portmore.
Speaking with reporters, an upset Dr. Dawes continued to criticise the government for pushing ahead with plans to establish the Portmore parish without the input of stakeholders.
Meantime, Member of Parliament for East Central St. Catherine, Alando Terrelonge, noted that the meeting forms part of efforts by the EOJ to enlighten elected representatives about technical aspects of the proposed changes.
He said the EOJ will host more meetings, as well as site visits.
