History becons for Jamaica ahead of 2026 CAC Games in the Dominican Republic and Commonwealth Games in Scotland
184 athletes will represent Jamaica at the upcoming Central American and the Caribbean Games in the Dominican Republic, and 73 Jamaican competitors will fly the national colors at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland, at the staging of both games starting later this month.
In what will be the biggest undertaking by the Jamaica Olympic Association to send two delegation representng the country simultaenously, the details were annunced at a press launch in Kingston this afternoon, where it was confirmed that Jamaica will be represented in 27 sporting disciplines at the C.A.C. Games and 10 sporting challenges at the Commonwealth Games.
Jamaica will be competing in chess, sailing and e-sports for the first time at the C.A.C. Games, which runs from July 24 to August 8, and in netball, 3-on-3 basketball, boxing, judo, weightlifting, athletics, swimming, track cycling, artistic gymnastics and lawn bowls in Scotland between July 23 and August 2.
Vice President of the Jamaica Football Federation, Raymond Grant, will travel as Chef de Mission for the CAC Games, and Rohan Wilson, President of the Jamaica Rifle Association, is the Chef de Mission for the Commonwealth Games.
