The Government says it is ready to support the relief and recovery effort in Venezuela, following back-to-back earthquakes that hit the country yesterday.
The BBC said the quakes, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, hit a minute apart.
At least 164 people have been killed and almost 100,000 injured.
State Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, expressed condolences to the people of Venezuela on behalf of the Government.
Meanwhile, the People’s National Party (PNP) also expressed its deepest condolences to the people of Venezuela.
In a statement from the PNP, it commended the dedication of the emergency responders, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and all those working tirelessly in the ongoing search, rescue, and relief efforts.
