Police presence ramped up in Naggo Head, St. Catherine following double murder
Police presence has been ramped up in Naggo Head, St. Catherine, following yesterday’s double murder.
19-year-old Michael Elliot, a deliveryman, and 17-year-old Kenrick Ebanks were killed in the incident.
Police say gunmen barged into a house at around 4:30 A.M. and opened fire, killing the two males and wounding a female.
Speaking with IRIE FM News, Head of the St. Catherine South Police, Senior Superintendent Leighton Grey, said the heightened security presence is to guarantee that residents can conduct their affairs in safety.
As police continue to search for the perpetrators, residents are being reminded not to harbour fugitives.
SSP Grey warned residents that the criminals they harbour will eventually turn on them.
In the meantime, he said Sunday’s incident has highlighted the need to boost crime-fighting initiatives targeting the criminal underworld.
