Police officer charged with murder of Latoya Bulgin granted bail

The police officer charged with the murder of Latoya Bulgin was granted bail when he appeared in court today.

Constable Andrew Wilson was charged following a probe by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The charge stems from an incident on May 17, in Granville St. James, during which 45-year-old Bulgin was shot while in her motor car.

It was captured by CCTV and the video went viral on social media.

The shooting sparked widespread outrage and demonstrations, with calls for accountability.

Constable Wilson appeared in court earlier this month and was denied bail.

Attorney-at-Law Michael Hemmings said bail application was successful at today’s court appearance because documents absent at the previous hearing are now available.

Constable Wilson was granted $1 million bail.

The matter returns to court on July 10.
