Head of the St. Elizabeth police, Superintendent Coleridge Minto says about 60% of the 14 murders committed in the parish since the start of the year, stem from interpersonal violence.

The latest incident involved a 19-year-old man, who is accused of fatally chopping his brother, as well as wounding his mother and another brother.

Speaking to Journalists in Santa Cruz yesterday, Superintendent Minto described the incident as very unfortunate.

Superintendent Minto is appealing to citizens to amicably resolve issues and utilise the police’s Domestic Violence Intervention Centre in Santa Cruz.
