Consumer confidence rose by 5.7% while business confidence fell by 6.5% over last quarter of 2025

Consumer confidence rose by 5.7% over the last quarter of 2025, while business confidence fell by 6.5%.

Executive Chairman of Market Research Services, Don Anderson made the disclosure while presenting the confidence indices for the 1st quarter of 2026, at the Terra Nova Hotel, in Kingston this morning.

Mr. Anderson explained that while consumer confidence has risen, it is not yet at pre-Hurricane Melissa levels.

He notes, however, that the country is on a good trajectory.

Mr. Anderson pointed to people’s views on current business conditions and expected job situations, as some of the factors influencing the overall consumer index.

On the flip side, Mr. Anderson explained that business owners are not so confident, as their profits are still suffering from the impacts of Hurricane Melissa.
